There exist several known methods for calculation of radio coverage for ground-based systems. As far as we know there are no equivalent methods for the case of flying platforms when the altitudes and speeds are significantly different to those of ground-based systems. This thesis describes the theoretical concepts behind calculations of radio coverage for flying platforms. An investigation is made to sort out what is important and possible to employ in a model for simulations. A method is described and implemented in a program for evaluation of flying radio systems.

To be able to evaluate different radio waveforms in a laboratory environment FOI in Linköping has developed an experimental system for radio communication called Rasmus. The system consists of a transmitter, a channel emulator and a receiver. The transmitter modulates a digital signal to a desired analogue waveform. The channel emulator is used to simulate a real radio channel. The channel emulator distorts the signal by splitting it up in several propagation paths.

The purpose of this essay is to study the role of web radio in Sweden. To fulfill the purpose we have done a case study of two Swedish radio stations: Sveriges Radio AB, which is a public service station, and a commercial station called Mix Megapol. By interviewing two persons from each station and analyzing the contents of their web sites, we have tried to see how the relationship between radio, Internet and web radio looks like. Thus, our method is qualitative. We have come to many conclusion of which some are: The new medium web radio borrows qualities from the traditional radio.

Varje deltagande soldat kommer att behöva egen radioutrustning. Då stadsmiljö är ett relativt outforskat område vad gäller militär radiokommunikation är det viktigt att öka förståelsen för radiovågors utbredning i stadsmiljö. At the Department of Technology and Built environment at the University of Gävle there was an interest to study GNU Radio, which is an "open source radio project. The project is based on that most of the radio signal processing is made in an ordinary PC. The idea behind this degree project was that in a laptop there are several radio transmitters/receivers that takes space, generates heat and transmit in varied frequency band etcetera. All these radio transmitters/receivers could be replaced with a Software Defined Radio system. It means that one common, general radio hardware is used to different communications such as: WLAN, Bluetooth, GPRS, 3G etcetera. The waveform is generated in the software, which makes the system very flexible.

This essay aims to analyse the form of two radio documentary shows and compare them to, what I mean are a traditional, Swedish radio documentary form. The radio shows are Radiolab distributedby National Public Radio and WNYC, Övernaturligt (supernatural) produced by TredjeStatsmakten Media AB and P3 Dokumentär (P3 Documentary) distributed by Sveriges Radio. Alarge part of the essay is dedicated to develop a method to analyse form in specific radio shows. Mymethod consists of two parts:1. A defining of sounds in a spreadsheet that map out the different sound elements over time.2.

The aim of this project is to find a concept solution for a wireless transmitting system, installed to transmit data from a hydrophone of the ocean floor down by a wave power generator to the office on shore. The project is a literature review in which previous observations and tests are analyzed and put together to find a solution. The result was a comprehensive solution that includes an acoustic modem to transfer captured information from the bottom to the surface, wirelessly through the water. The information is then sent fron the surface on radio waves through the GSM network to the office on land. Between under and over water there are components to convert information between acoustic waves and radio waves, but also various types of modulation, such as amplitude and frequency modulation is required..

The purpose of this BA-thesis was to learn the differences in news broadcasts between one public service radio channel and two commercial radio channels. To do this we used a quantitative analysis method to examine the content of the news broadcasts and then we conducted in-depth interviews with several people working with the different radio channels using a qualitative research interview method to learn their views on news and news broadcasting.We measured the differences between the channels in six areas: subject, headline, news presentation, gender, advertising and sources.Our two main theories were normative theory and media logic.The results found that there were several major differences between the public service radio channel and the two commercial radio channels. Apart from several important differences in the six measured categories we also found that the sound and tone in the public service radio channel was very different from the two commercial radio channels.We also found the public service radio channels news broadcasts to be more serious than the two commercials ones?..

AimThe aim of the present study was to study possible evidence for shock wave therapy on pain and function in patients with plantar fasciitis.Questions1. Does shock wave therapy reduce pain in patients with plantar fasciitis?2. Does shock wave therapy improve function in patients with plantar fasciitis?MethodA systematic review of the literature was performed in the databases PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane and Cinahl.

In this thesis work a Geographical Information System (GIS) based methodology to identify locations suitable for the installation of wave energy converters has been developed. Parameters of importance have been identified and a GIS-database has been set up, containing data about the marine environment. In a case study of the Swedish west coast the methodology has been applied, resulting in a number of maps showing possible areas. The results show that large areas are suitable for installation of wave energy converters, from a technical and economical point of view. When consideration is taken to other interests in the area, such as navigation, fishing and environmental protection, the size of the suitable area diminishes considerably.

The aim of this research is to find out what environmental impact a wave power park has on the Swedish west coast by creating a consultation paper (?Samrådsunderlag?) for the Lysekilproject at Uppsala University. To highlight the complexity of the problem a system analytic approach was used and illustrated by a Causal Loop Diagram.The overall assessment of the Lysekilprojects wave power park at the Swedish west coast is that it will have a low impact on the environment. This is due to the relative small size of the wave power park and some technical solutions made with the environmental aspect in mind. Artificial reefs and a sanctuary for marine species are effects created by the wave power park and in the longer term the impact will give access to an untapped source of renewable energy, wave energy.

The report investigates and analyzes how radio has been developed.The purpose of this study is to analyze the production flows of the radio and explore how it has been developed. The project?s objective is to raise the knowledge in media development, primarily radio?s development.The scientific theory is based on the concept of media convergence, in this chapter the reader will learn what media convergence means, but also how it works in the media world and the Public Service.

Pålagt skratt är något som har använts i hela tevens historia och används än idag. Från början fick man inspirationen från radions tidiga dagar då man ofta spelade in sina program eller shower framför en publik. Det pålagda skrattet har funnits i din teveapparat i nästan 70 år, men i din radio hör du det aldrig. Varför inte det? Mitt examensarbete syftar till att göra ett humorprogram i radio med pålagt skratt och undersöka vad folk tycker om detta grepp i radio.
